Daria Torzhevskaia:

My name is Daria, I am a Clinical Product Specialist at Optimed Technologies. We are a local distributor of medical equipment and surgical instruments to hospitals around Australia.

My role is a combination of sales and technical support. It involves  training and assisting medical staff on the use of a certain medical device before and during live surgery.

The micro-credential opened the door for me to a new field that I never considered for myself,  which is a pharmaceutical field. So I can definitely see myself now potentially applying all the skills that I've learned in the future.

You can see real tangible benefits out of it.

It was very well structured. It was highly engaging, and I didn't have to spend hours and hours on training and preparing and learning, because it was a very condensed and saturated with content course, with a slow progression from basic to more advanced concepts.

What we did get with micro-credential is a great combination of theory components, combined with a practical task -- and also under the guidance of the course facilitators and professors as well.

It definitely helped that the course facilitators as well, were always guiding and assisting you and you could ask them questions directly -- which is something you don't get with your traditional courses.

Halfway through my course, I found it so useful and valuable, that I enrolled into the Practical Foundations of Biology. I found that everything I've learned before in my very first micro-credential actually complements very well, and I can build upon that knowledge as I keep going. So you might start with one course and uh you may end up with a few.

Any people out there interested in the subject, I think it's an incredible opportunity.
