Western Sydney Investment Attraction Fund
The Western Sydney Investment Attraction Fund (WSIAF) is a $4.75 million grant program to attract and grow innovative, high-growth businesses in priority industries and drive productivity growth in the Western Parkland City. This includes the Local Government Areas of Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith, and Wollondilly.
WSIAF’s aim is to increase investment and create jobs by supporting businesses to establish or expand their operations in the Western Parkland City, maximising the benefits of investment across product life cycle.
NSW Future Industries Investment Program
WSIAF is part of the NSW Future Industries Investment Program. It is an open and competitive grant program that provides rebates for expenses incurred on eligible projects that boost the productivity of the NSW economy.
It focuses on attracting and growing innovative, high-growth businesses in priority industries and driving productivity growth in emerging high-value technologies including digital technology, advanced manufacturing, and biotechnology.
The total available funding for the Program is $30 million. The WSIAF is additional to this funding. Enterprises in the Western Parkland City will be eligible to access funding under the Future Industries Investment Program as well as the additional funding available under the WSIAF.
WSIAF’s aim is to increase productivity in the Western Parkland City via knowledge and skills transfer. The grants will be used to attract new investment in priority industries as identified in the NSW Industry Development Framework.

For projects to be assessed as eligible they must commit to creating a minimum of 20 ongoing net new FTE jobs in the Western Parkland City; or investing a minimum of $3 million capital expenditure (excluding assistance from the program) in priority industries within the Western Parkland City as part of the overall project.
Proponents must demonstrate that the proposed project would not proceed as proposed in NSW without Government support and how the project will lift industry productivity in NSW.

The Program has a two-stage application process – an Eligibility Application stage and then a Detailed Application stage. Eligibility Applications for Round 1 open on 8 December 2022 and close on 13 January 2023. Successful applicants will be invited to submit a Detailed Application thereafter.
